Komlan Sedzro is full professor in the department of finance at the School of Management of Universityk_sedzro of Québec at Montréal (ESG-UQAM). He joined UQAM in 1998, where he was from 2009 to 2012 Director of the Ph.D. program in administration. He also served as Director of the Master of Science in Applied Finance program and the specialized graduate diplomas in finance and financial derivatives programs from 2000 to 2007. Dr. Sedzro earned a PhD in Finance-Insurance from Laval University in 1992.

Dr. Sedzro has a broad range of research interests encompassing such areas as governance and performance evaluation of financial and microcredit institutions, optimal portfolio allocation, including alternative investments such as hedge funds, real estate and commodity derivatives, and the application of operational research methods in finance. He research has been published in scientific journals such as Journal of mathematical finance, INFOR, la revue Gestion, The Canadian Journal of Business Administration, Current State of Business Administration, Global Journal of Business Research, Derivatives Use, Trading and Regulation, Journal of Wealth Management etc. He has also organized several international conferences, including the Administrative Sciences Association of Canada’s 2011 annual conference and international hedge fund conferences in 2004, 2005 and 2007 in partnership with the Institut de Finance Mathématique de Montréal(IFM2) and the support of National Bank of Canada, The Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec and  Desjardins Global Asset Management.

Dr. Sedzro has regularly served on financing committees such as that of the Education and Good Governance Fund of Autorité des Marchés Financiers or scholarship committees of Fondation de l’UQAM, Institut de Finance Mathématique de Montréal (IFM2), FQRSC, etc., and has often been asked to evaluate articles for scientific reviews, for example, Quantitative Finance, Annals of Operations Research, Journal of Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis.
